What is PIVlab?

PIVlab is an extremely easy to use Matlab toolbox that calculates velocities in image data (movies, pictures). PIVlab can also control a camera, synchronizer and laser to capture data directly. It uses a method called 'Particle Image Velocimetry'. Usually, this method is used to calculate velocities in fluids. But there are also many other possibilities. Recently, ensemble correlation was added, making PIVlab suitable for micro-PIV too.

PIVlab can be run from Matlab, or, if you don't have a license, you can also run it directly inside your web browser: https://youtu.be/EQHfAmRxXw4

Demo of PIVlab together with a double-pulsed laser, pco.panda camera and a synchronizer (all hardware for PIVlab can be bought at Optolution.com:
